Description

Recreate Trader Joe’s Famous Wonton Soup at home! 🍜 Enjoy tender dumplings, savory broth, and fresh vegetables in this quick, comforting, restaurant-style soup perfect for weeknights or cozy meals.

Ingredients 

  • 12 dumplings, Trader Joe’s Pork or Chicken Dumplings, or any preferred variety
  • 2 cups chicken broth, or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups water, or use all chicken broth for more flavor
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce, adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil, adjust to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic, adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup green onions, scallions
  • 1/4 cup carrots, thinly sliced, or shredded
  • 1/4 cup baby spinach, optional
  • 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, chili flakes, lime wedges

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced 2 cloves garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the 2 cups chicken broth, 2 cups water and 1 tablespoon soy sauce, then bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add the frozen Trader Joe’s 12 dumplings to the simmering broth. Cook according to package instructions, usually 7–10 minutes, until fully heated and tender.
  • During the last 3–4 minutes of cooking, stir in sliced c1/4 cup carrots and chopped 1/2 cup green onions. Add 1/4 cup baby spinach add it now and cook just until wilted.
  • Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to taste. Optional: sprinkle with chili flakes or sesame seeds for extra flavor. (2 teaspoons sesame seeds, chili flakes, lime wedges)
  • Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot. For a bright, tangy finish, squeeze fresh lime juice over each serving.
