Ingredients
12dumplings, Trader Joe’s Pork or Chicken Dumplings, or any preferred variety
2cupschicken broth, or vegetable broth
2cupswater, or use all chicken broth for more flavor
1tablespoonsoy sauce, adjust to taste
1tablespoonsesame oil, adjust to taste
2clovesgarlic, adjust to taste
1/2cupgreen onions, scallions
1/4cupcarrots, thinly sliced, or shredded
1/4cupbaby spinach, optional
1teaspoonsalt, to taste
1/2teaspoonblack pepper, to taste
2teaspoonssesame seeds, chili flakes, lime wedges
Instructions
In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced 2 cloves garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the 2 cups chicken broth, 2 cups water and 1 tablespoon soy sauce, then bring to a gentle simmer.
Add the frozen Trader Joe’s 12 dumplings to the simmering broth. Cook according to package instructions, usually 7–10 minutes, until fully heated and tender.
During the last 3–4 minutes of cooking, stir in sliced c1/4 cup carrots and chopped 1/2 cup green onions. Add 1/4 cup baby spinach add it now and cook just until wilted.
Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to taste. Optional: sprinkle with chili flakes or sesame seeds for extra flavor. (2 teaspoons sesame seeds, chili flakes, lime wedges)
Ladle the soup into bowls and serve hot. For a bright, tangy finish, squeeze fresh lime juice over each serving.
