Description

Slow Cooker Root Beer Sloppy Joe Sliders are bite-sized sandwiches with sweet, tangy, and savory beef. Perfect for parties, game days, or easy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients 

  • 2 pounds ground beef, browned
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 large red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 cup root beer, not diet
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ cup quick cooking oatmeal
  • 12 slider buns
  • Optional sliced cheddar cheese or pickles for serving

Instructions

  • Place the browned 2 pounds ground beef diced 1 small onion, minced 3 cloves garlic , 1 large green bell pepper, and 1 large red bell pepper into the slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1 cup root beer, 1 cup ketchup, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup quick cooking oatmeal, 1 tablespoon yellow mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon onion powder until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce over the beef mixture and stir gently to combine. Cover and cook on Low for 4–6 hours or High for 2–3 hours.
  • Serve the Sloppy Joe mixture on 12 slider buns, topping Optional sliced cheddar cheese or pickles for serving.
