Description

Using an air fryer to reheat enchiladas is an innovative way to get crisp edges while retaining the juicy filling. Air fryers circulate hot air around the food, ensuring even heating and a crispy finish, which can be especially appealing for foods like enchiladas.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 cooked enchiladas
  • 1 teaspoon enchilada sauce, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes.
  • Place the enchiladas in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they're not overlapping. If you're reheating saucy enchiladas, consider placing parchment paper or a piece of foil underneath to catch any drips.
  • Cook the enchiladas in the preheated air fryer for 8-10 minutes. Depending on the size and filling of the enchiladas, they may need a bit more or less time.
  • Halfway through, check the enchiladas and turn them if necessary to ensure even reheating. Some air fryers can heat unevenly, so this step ensures every part of your enchilada is perfectly warm.
  • Set the cooking time for 8-10 minutes, and check the enchiladas. The external part should be slightly crispy, and the internal part should be warm. You can use a food thermometer to ensure the inside has reached a temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Once reheated, carefully remove the enchiladas from the air fryer, plate, and top with your favorite garnishes.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

Pro Tip: Customize your enchiladas with your favorite toppings like guacamole, sliced olives, or diced tomatoes for an extra burst of flavor.
