Description

An easy copycat Red Robin Freckled Lemonade made with tart lemonade, strawberry syrup, and fresh strawberries over ice — ready in 5 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lemonade
  • ¼ cup strawberry syrup
  • 4 strawberries, sliced
  • 1 lemon slice, for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  • Pour the lemonade over the ice, add the strawberry syrup, and stir well to combine.
  • Drop in the sliced strawberries for extra flavor and that signature "freckled" look.
  • Garnish with a lemon slice and serve immediately.

Equipment

  • Glass
  • Spoons

Notes

  • Macerate the strawberries. Toss the sliced berries with a teaspoon of sugar and let them sit 10 minutes before adding — it draws out their juices for deeper flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness. Start with less strawberry syrup and add more to taste, especially if your lemonade is already on the sweet side.
  • No syrup? Use puree. Swap the strawberry syrup for an equal amount of fresh strawberry puree (just blend a few berries).
  • Make it frozen. Blend the lemonade, syrup, and strawberries with a cup of ice for a slushy version.
  • Make ahead. Stir together the lemonade and syrup and refrigerate up to 3 days; add fresh ice and strawberries just before serving so they stay firm and bright.
  • Scale it up for a pitcher. Multiply the amounts by 6–8 and stir in a large pitcher, then pour over individual glasses of ice.
  • Best fresh. This drink is at its best right after mixing — the strawberries soften and the ice dilutes it if it sits too long.
