  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large carrot diced
  • 2 medium carrots diced
  • 2 stalks celery diced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup diced pancetta
  • 2 pounds meatloaf mix or ground beef
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 cup water or beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cup milk or milk alternative
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tesapoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 bay leaf 1
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italiasn Seasoning


  1. In your Dutch Oven, add the olive oil, the diced onions, carrots, celery, and garlic. Press the button labeled sear/saute, and saute for about 3 to 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened and the onions are translucent.

  2. Mix well with the bay leaf, Italian Seasoning, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and pancetta. Saute for a couple of minutes until the pancetta is browned.

  3. Add in the ground meat and seasonings, and saute until the meat is fully cooked. Mix in the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, water, milk, and mix well. Press the slow cook button, and set the time for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.

  4. Serve over pasta.
