Description

A creamy, fizzy twist on the classic soda-fountain treat — all the nostalgia of a root beer float, spun smooth in your Ninja Creami. No ice cream maker needed!

Ingredients

  • cups root beer, not diet, semi-flat
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp root beer extract, optional

Instructions

  • Mix the base. Whisk together the semi-flat root beer, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and root beer extract (if using) until the sugar dissolves.
  • Fill and freeze. Pour into a Ninja Creami pint container, staying at or below the max fill line. Cover and freeze on a level surface for at least 24 hours.
  • Spin. Place the frozen pint in the Ninja Creami, select the "Italian Ice" or "Sorbet" setting, and process until smooth.
  • Re-spin if needed. If crumbly, run the "Re-spin" function. Add a splash of root beer or water if still crumbly, then re-spin.
  • Serve. Scoop and enjoy immediately. Top with a splash of root beer or whipped cream for a true float feel.

Equipment

  • Ninja Creami Ice Cream Machine
  • Ninja Creami Pint Container
  • Ninja Creami Pint Container Lid

Notes

The heavy cream is what makes this taste like a float rather than plain root beer ice — don't skip it. For a dairy-free version, use full-fat coconut cream. Store in the covered pint in the freezer up to 1–2 weeks and re-spin before serving.
