Ingredients 

  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar,
  • 4 large Eggs,
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour,
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder,
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together using a hand mixer or stand mixer until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve as is, or top with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or your favorite fruit. Enjoy!
