Description

This KFC Honey BBQ Sauce Copycat Recipe is sweet, smoky, and packed with flavor—perfect for dipping, glazing, or drizzling over chicken and more!

Ingredients 

  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar , or white vinegar
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground celery
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine tomato paste, water, vinegar, brown sugar, and honey. Stir until smooth.
  • Add liquid smoke, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, ground celery, paprika, and cayenne (if using). Stir to combine.
  • Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of water to thin it to your desired consistency.
