Description

Creamy, tangy, and bursting with flavor, Gordon Ramsay’s Tartar Sauce is the perfect companion for fried fish, seafood, sandwiches, and appetizers. Made with mayonnaise, finely chopped pickles, capers, fresh herbs, and a touch of lemon, this homemade tartar sauce is quick to make and far superior to store-bought versions.

Ingredients 

  • ½ cup mayonnaise,
  • 1 tbsp capers, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp pickles, or cornichons, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard,
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp chives , or or tarragon, optional

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix ½ cup mayonnaise, 1 tsp Dijon mustard, and 1 tsp lemon juice until smooth.
  • Stir in finely chopped 1 tbsp capers, 2 tbsp pickles, and 1 tbsp fresh parsley. Add 1 tsp chives or tarragon if desired for extra flavor.
  • Add Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Mix gently to combine.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve alongside fried fish, seafood, sandwiches, or as a dip for veggies and appetizers.
