Description

Make restaurant-quality Olive Garden Marinara Sauce at home! Easy, flavorful, and perfect for pasta, lasagna, or dipping.

Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
  • 1 teaspoon sugar, optional
  • Fresh basil leaves, optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add 4 cloves garlic and 1 small onion, sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  • Stir in 28 ounces crushed tomatoes and 2 tablespoons tomato paste, mixing until fully combined.
  • Add 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1 teaspoon dried basil, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes(if using). Stir to combine.
  • Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld flavors and thicken.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add a pinch of 1 teaspoon sugar if the sauce tastes too acidic.
  • Serve immediately over pasta, in lasagna, or store for later. Garnish with Fresh basil leaves if desired.
