Description
Make restaurant-quality Olive Garden Marinara Sauce at home! Easy, flavorful, and perfect for pasta, lasagna, or dipping.
Ingredients

tablespoons
olive oil
4
cloves
garlic
,
minced
1
small
onion
,
finely chopped
28
ounces
crushed tomatoes
2
tablespoons
tomato paste
1
teaspoon
dried oregano
1
teaspoon
dried basil
1
teaspoon
salt
½
teaspoon
black pepper
¼
teaspoon
red pepper flakes
,
optional
1
teaspoon
sugar
,
optional
Fresh basil leaves
,
optional, for garnish
Instructions
Heat
2 tablespoons olive oil
in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add
4 cloves garlic
and
1 small onion
, sauté until fragrant and translucent.
Stir in
28 ounces crushed tomatoes
and
2 tablespoons tomato paste
, mixing until fully combined.
Add
1 teaspoon dried oregano
,
1 teaspoon dried basil
,
1 teaspoon salt
,
½ teaspoon black pepper
, and
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
(if using). Stir to combine.
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally to meld flavors and thicken.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add a pinch of
1 teaspoon sugar
if the sauce tastes too acidic.
Serve immediately over pasta, in lasagna, or store for later. Garnish with
Fresh basil leaves
if desired.
