Description

Make easy and delicious slow cooker marinara sauce with rich, slow-simmered flavors. Perfect for pasta, pizza, meatballs, and freezer-friendly meal prep.

Ingredients 

  • 56 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 6 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sugar, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, olive oil, diced onion, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, sugar (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using) to the slow cooker.
  • Stir everything together until evenly combined.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until flavors meld.
  • Taste and add more salt, pepper, or sugar if needed.
  • For a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender directly in the slow cooker.
  • Serve immediately over pasta, pizza, meatballs, or let cool and store for later.
