Make tender, juicy Swedish meatballs quickly in the air fryer. Coated in a creamy, savory sauce, these meatballs are perfect for weeknight dinners or appetizers.
Ingredients
1poundground beef, lean
1/4cupbread crumbs, or panko
1tablepoonparsley
1/4teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4teaspoongarlic powder
1/4teaspoonallspice
1/8cupdiced onions
1/2teaspoonsalt
1/2teaspoonblack pepper
1largeegg
Sauce:
4tablespoonsbutter
3tablespoonsall-purpose flour
2cupsbeef broth
1cupheavy cream
Instructions
Combine the ground beef, onions, bread crumbs (or panko), seasonings, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix well until the mixture is well combined.
Using a cookie scoop or your hands, roll the meatballs, and place them into the air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 380 degrees F, air fryer setting, and cook for 10 to 12 minutes. (Depending on your air fryer, shake your basket frequently during the cooking process)
While the meatballs are cooking, make the gravy. Add the butter to a small saucepan, then over low heat, simmer until the butter is melted, and whisk in the flour. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream, and simmer until the sauce is thickened. When the meatballs are cooked, place the meatballs into the saucepan and heat for a couple of minutes.
