Description

Cream Cheese Spread with Warm Cherry Sauce—smooth, creamy, and topped with sweet-tart cherry sauce for a quick, elegant appetizer.

Ingredients 

  • 8 ounces block cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 cup dark cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey,
  • ½ teaspoon dried rosemary, or 1½ t. fresh leaves, finely chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup water
  • ¼ cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary leaves, finely chopped

Instructions

  • Heat a large, high-sided skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add the 2 cup dark cherries, 1 tablespoon honey, ½ teaspoon dried rosemary, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon ground cumin¼ teaspoon salt and 1/3 cup water, stirring to combine.
  • Cook the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces by half and thickens into a rich sauce, about 8–10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  • Place the 8 ounces block cream cheese on a serving platter and spoon half of the warm cherry sauce over the top. Reserve the remaining sauce to drizzle later or serve on the side.
  • Sprinkle with chopped ¼ cup pecans and finely chopped 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary leaves, if desired.
  • Serve immediately with crackers and enjoy!
