Place chicken breasts in a bowl and pour over buttermilk, ensuring each piece is submerged. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour in the fridge.
In a separate shallow dish, combine flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and paprika.
Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing to coat thoroughly.
Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F, for 3-5 minutes.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the coated chicken breasts in the basket in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t touching. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
Cook for 18-20 minutes or until golden and cooked through, flipping halfway. Cook until the internal temperature in the thickest part of the chicken is 165 degrees F.
Once done, remove from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
