Whip up some Cracker Barrel baby carrots for a side dish that even kids will devour! They're irresistibly sweet, savory, and absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
36ozbaby carrots, , washed
2tablespoonsbutter
1tablespoonbrown sugar
1/2teaspoonnutmeg
1/2teaspoonsalt , to taste
1/4teaspoonblack pepper, to taste
Instructions
Place baby carrots inside a large saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer, cover with a lid and simmer for 6 minutes or until carrots are just beginning to soften.
Drain half the water from the saucepan. Add in butter, brown sugar and salt and stir. Place back on heat and simmer for another 5 minutes, or until carrots are tender but not completely soft.
Drain remaining water. Top carrots with a pinch of nutmeg and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
