Description

Crispy copycat Wingstop lemon pepper wings tossed in a buttery lemon-pepper baste, just like the restaurant version. Air fryer or oven, ready in about 30 minutes, no deep-frying.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb chicken wings, party-cut
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon zest

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3–5 minutes.
  • Pat the wings completely dry. Toss with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.
  • Arrange in a single layer in the basket without crowding. Cook 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until deep golden and 165°F internally.
  • Meanwhile, whisk the melted butter and lemon pepper seasoning together.
  • Transfer the hot wings to a large bowl, pour the lemon pepper butter over them, and toss to coat.
  • Finish with fresh lemon zest and serve immediately.

Notes

Oven method: Bake at 400°F on a wire rack set in a foil-lined sheet pan for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and 165°F internally. Toss in the lemon pepper butter the same way.
Lemon pepper wet: Whisk 1–2 tablespoons Louisiana-style hot sauce into the melted butter before adding the seasoning.
Seasoning note: Choose a blend that lists lemon peel before salt. Add ⅛ teaspoon Accent for a closer match to the restaurant flavor.
