A copycat Wendy's Strawberry Frosty that gets the texture right — malted milk powder for that signature flavor, and a short freeze after blending for real Frosty density. Thick enough to eat with a spoon.
Ingredients
3cupsvanilla ice cream, slightly softened
2tablespoonsmalted milk powder
3tablespoonsstrawberry syrup
2 to 4tablespoonswhole milk
1/8teaspoonkosher salt
Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
4fresh strawberries, sliced, for serving (optional)
Instructions
Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5 minutes, until scoopable but still firm.
Add the ice cream, malted milk powder, strawberry syrup, salt, and 2 tablespoons of the milk to a blender.
Blend on low, then medium, scraping down the sides as needed. Add the remaining milk only if the blender stalls, one tablespoon at a time. Stop as soon as the mixture is smooth — over-blending will thin it.
Divide between two glasses and freeze, uncovered, for 20 minutes, until thick enough to hold a spoon upright.
Top with whipped cream, sliced strawberries, and an extra drizzle of strawberry syrup. Serve with a spoon.

Notes
Use plain malted milk powder, not Ovaltine. Ovaltine is chocolate-flavored.
Skip the strawberry syrup and add ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for a vanilla Frosty.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month. Soften 10–15 minutes and stir with a fork before serving.
