In a large pan, brown your 1/2 pound Ground beef(or sausage) over medium heat until fully cooked. If using 1/2 cup Chicken gizzards, chop them into small pieces and cook them until browned.
Add chopped 1 medium Green bell pepper, 2 stalks Green onions, 1 teaspoon Celery flakes and to the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Stir in 1 teaspoon Garlic powder, 1 teaspoons Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes, and 1/4 teaspoon Ground black pepper to taste. Mix well, allowing the spices to coat the meat and veggies.
Stir in long-grain rice, and cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing it to absorb the spices.
Pour 1/3 cup water to cook the 1 cup Long grain rice and bring it to a boil. Lower the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve! Enjoy your homemade Popeyes Cajun rice with your favorite protein or as a stand-alone dish.
