Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup butter, cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup cold buttermilk, plus extra for brushing

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon baking powder½ teaspoon baking soda. Add the cold cubed ½ cup butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pour in the cold ¾ cup cold buttermilk and mix until a dough forms.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead a few times. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cut it into round biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3 minutes.
  • Place the biscuits in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they aren't touching. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • After the biscuits are done, brush them with extra buttermilk to give them a nice sheen and extra softness.
  • Enjoy your warm, flaky Popeyes-style biscuits with your favorite meal!
