Description

An easy copycat of Panera's asiago cheese bagel made with 3 ingredients, no yeast and no boiling, and air fried in 10 minutes with a crispy cheese crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cups asiago cheese, divided (shredded, with some cut into small cubes for topping)
  • 1 large egg, beaten, for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon water, for egg wash
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, optional

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, stir together the flour, yogurt, 1/2 cup asiago and garlic powder (if using) until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead 1 to 2 minutes, until smooth.
  • Cut into 4 pieces. Roll each into a 5- to 7-inch rope and pinch the ends together to form a ring.
  • Place in the air fryer basket on a parchment round, leaving space between bagels. Work in batches if needed.
  • Brush with egg wash if using, then press the remaining 1 cup asiago firmly onto the tops.
  • Air fry at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden and cooked through. For a crispier top, finish at 375°F for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Cool 5 minutes before slicing.

Equipment

  • parchment rounds (optional)
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Pastry Brush

Notes

Oven method: bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 minutes. Store at room temperature up to 2 days or freeze up to 2 months.
