Description
Juicy air-fried chicken thighs in a homemade teriyaki marinade, sliced and finished with a thick, glossy teriyaki sauce, just like Panda Express.
Ingredients
4
pounds
boneless, skinless chicken thighs
,
(or breasts)
1
cup
soy sauce
,
low-sodium recommended
½
cup
brown sugar
¼
cup
honey
4
cloves
garlic
,
minced
2
teaspoons
fresh ginger
,
grated
2
tablespoons
rice vinegar
2
tablespoons
cornstarch
4
tablespoons
water
Sliced green onions and sesame seeds
,
for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Whisk the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar together. Reserve about 1 cup for the sauce.
Toss the chicken in the rest of the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Remove the chicken and discard the used marinade.
Air fry in a single layer, in batches, for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until 165°F inside.
Meanwhile, simmer the reserved sauce. Stir in the cornstarch mixed with the water and cook for 2–3 minutes until thick.
Rest the chicken for 5 minutes, slice, and spoon the sauce over it. Garnish and serve.
