Description

Make McDonald's Tangy BBQ Sauce at home with this easy 3-ingredient copycat recipe — smoky, sweet, and perfect for dipping nuggets and fries or brushing on grilled meats.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Sweet Baby Ray's Original Barbecue Sauce
  • cup Kraft Original Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon corn syrup, or granulated white sugar
  • teaspoon brown sugar, or molasses, optional
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
  • teaspoon cayenne, optional

Instructions

  • Combine the Sweet Baby Ray's and Kraft BBQ sauce in a small saucepan over low-to-medium heat (or microwave in short bursts) until warmed through.
  • Stir in the corn syrup or sugar, whisking until fully dissolved and the sauce is smooth and glossy. Taste and stir in any optional add-ins.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Notes

Notes: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days, or freeze up to 3 months. Flavor improves after resting overnight.
