Description

Copycat McDonald's Signature Sauce — Creamy, smoky, and tangy, this 5-minute copycat nails the real McDonald's Signature Sauce — the mustard-and-BBQ dipping sauce, not Big Mac sauce. One bowl, pantry staples, no cooking. Perfect for nuggets, fries, burgers, and sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon smoky barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon honey, or 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, mustard, barbecue sauce, ketchup, honey, and vinegar.
  • Add the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Whisk until smooth and uniform in color.
  • Taste and adjust: more mustard for tang, more honey for sweetness, more paprika or BBQ for smoke.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (2–4 hours is ideal) to let the flavors develop.
  • Stir before serving. Use as a dip or spread.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Notes

  • Chilling is the most important step — don't skip it.
  • The barbecue sauce you choose drives the final flavor; pick a smoky, sweet, hickory-style one.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Do not freeze.
