8ounceselbow macaroni, 1/2 a box
1 ¼cupswhole milk
1 ½tablespoonspowdered milk
¾teaspooncornstarch
½teaspoondry ground mustard
12ouncesVelveeta, cut into small cubes
1cupsharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
Boil the 8 ounces elbow macaroniin salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, combine the 1 ¼ cups whole milk, 1 ½ tablespoons powdered milk, and ¾ teaspoon cornstarch. Stir constantly over medium heat until the mixture begins to thicken.
Stir in the ½ teaspoon dry ground mustard followed by the 12 ounces Velveeta cubes and shredded 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine, making sure the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy cheese sauce.
