Description

Recreate the classic sweet treat at home with these Copycat Hostess Powdered Donettes. Soft, fluffy, and dusted with a generous layer of powdered sugar, these mini donuts are a perfect snack or breakfast indulgence!

Ingredients

  • 1 package of refrigerated biscuits, full size or mini
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • Cooking Spray

Instructions

  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). If your air fryer doesn't require preheating, you can skip this step.
  • Prepare the Biscuits: Open the can of refrigerated biscuits and separate them. Lay them out on a clean surface.
  • Shape the Donettes: Using a small round cookie cutter or the top of a small glass, cut a hole in the center of each biscuit. You've now created the classic donette shape.
  • Air Fry the Donettes: Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the shaped donettes in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they don't touch each other. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Air Fry: Air fry the donettes at 350°F (175°C) for 4-6 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Keep a close eye on them to prevent overcooking. Remember, cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model.
  • Coat with Powdered Sugar: Remove the donettes from the air fryer while they are still warm. Place them in a bowl filled with powdered sugar. Roll them around to coat them evenly with the sugar. You can shake off any excess sugar.
  • Serve: Serve your Air Fryer Copycat Hostess Powdered Donettes warm and enjoy!

Equipment

Notes

Notes:
  • Be careful not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. It's essential to leave some space between the donettes to ensure even cooking.
  • You can customize these donettes by adding a bit of cinnamon to the powdered sugar for a delightful twist.
  • Leftover donettes can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
  • To reheat leftover donettes, you can briefly air fry them again to regain their warmth and slight crispiness. Be cautious not to overheat them.
