Description

Make your own Hardee’s Apple Turnovers with this easy copycat recipe! Enjoy flaky puff pastry filled with sweet, spiced apples and topped with a delicious glaze.

Ingredients 

  • 2 sheets Puff Pastry Sheets, typically contains 2 sheets
  • 3 medium Apples, like Granny Smith
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg:
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Butter,

Icing Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar ,
  • 2 tablespoons Milk, Adjust glaze consistency

Other:

  • 1 large Egg, optional: (for egg wash)

Instructions

  • Peel, core, and dice the apples. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, and cornstarch. Cook until the apples are tender and the filling is thickened. Set aside to cool.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares. Place a spoonful of the apple filling in the center of each square.
  • Fold each square into a triangle, enclosing the filling. Press the edges together with a fork to seal, and brush with an optional egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Alternatively, place the turnovers in a preheated air fryer at 350°F (175°C) and cook for 10-12 minutes, checking halfway through to ensure even browning.
  • In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Adjust the consistency as needed for drizzling.
  • Once the turnovers are cool, drizzle the glaze over the top and allow it to set.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy your homemade Hardee’s Apple Turnovers!
