Make your own Copycat Cheesecake Factory Brown Bread at home! Soft, slightly sweet, and topped with oats—just like the restaurant favorite.
Ingredients
2cupsbread flour
1 1/4cupswhole wheat flour
2tablespoonscocoa powder, unsweetened
1tablespooninstant coffee granules
1 1/2teaspoonssalt
1/4cupbrown sugar
2 1/4teaspoonsactive dry yeast , 1 packet
1 1/4cupswarm water, 110°F/45°C
2tablespoonsmolasses ,
2tablespoonshoney
2tablespoonsvegetable oil
2tablespoonsRolled oats, for topping, optional
Instructions
In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine warm water, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Add molasses, brown sugar, oil, salt, cocoa powder, coffee, and flours. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes by hand or with a dough hook until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled.
Punch down the dough and divide into 2 or 3 equal portions. Shape into small baguette-style loaves. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30–45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly brush the tops with water and sprinkle with oats. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cooked through and hollow-sounding when tapped.
Let the bread cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with butter or your favorite spread.
