Ingredients
2tablespoonsbutter ,
2tablespoonsall-purpose flour
1cupwhole milk
1cupshredded sharp cheddar cheese
½teaspoonmustard powder, optional.
¼teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoonsalt, to taste
¼teaspoonblack pepper, to taste
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, melt the 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Stir in the 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour and whisk constantly for about 1 minute until it forms a paste.
Slowly pour in the 1 cup whole milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Lower the heat and stir in the 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder , and ½ teaspoon mustard powder. Mix until smooth and creamy.
