Description

Skip the drive-thru and make Arby’s Chicken Tenders at home—crispy, golden, and full of flavor using simple pantry ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders, or chicken breast strips
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional, for a little heat

Instructions

  • Place chicken tenders in a bowl or zip-top bag. Pour buttermilk over the chicken and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours) to tenderize and add moisture.
  • In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing gently to coat well.
  • Air fryer: Preheat to 400°F. Spray the basket lightly with cooking spray. Place tenders in a single layer, spray tops with cooking spray, and cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.
  • Oven: Preheat to 425°F. Place tenders on a lined baking sheet. Spray with cooking spray and bake for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Enjoy your crispy chicken tenders with your favorite dipping sauces like honey mustard, BBQ, or ranch.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
