Description

This Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball is a creamy no-bake dessert that tastes just like cookie dough cheesecake. Made with cream cheese, butter, and mini chocolate chips, it takes 10 minutes to mix and is the perfect make-ahead party dessert.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 stick, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  • Beat the cream cheese and butter until completely smooth, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the powdered sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Beat until light and fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Fold in 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips by hand with a spatula.
  • Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours, until firm.
  • Roll into a smooth ball, then roll in the remaining 3/4 cup chocolate chips, pressing to adhere.
  • Chill 30 minutes more. Rest 10 minutes at room temperature, then serve with graham crackers, pretzels, and apple slices.

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Plastic wrap

Notes

Use full-fat block cream cheese, not whipped or tub-style. Make up to 3 days ahead and coat in chocolate chips the day of serving.
