Description

Make this easy Chipotle Honey Chicken Copycat Recipe at home—sweet, smoky, and perfectly tender chicken ready in your air fryer or oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, or boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 teaspoons chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small blender or mixing bowl, combine chipotle peppers, honey, olive oil, vinegar, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper. Blend or whisk until smooth.
  • Place chicken thighs in a bowl or zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken and toss to coat evenly. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F for 2–3 minutes.
  • Place marinated chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F for 14–16 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
