Description

A creamy, smoky BBQ aioli made with mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, fresh garlic, and lemon juice. Ready in 5 minutes and perfect for burgers, fries, wings, and grilled meats.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, stir together the ½ cup mayonnaise and ¼ cup BBQ sauce until the color is completely uniform.
  • Add the 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, ⅛ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
  • Stir until smooth and fully combined.
  • Taste and adjust — more lemon juice if it tastes heavy, more salt if it tastes flat, more BBQ sauce for a stronger smoky flavor.
  • Serve right away, or cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to let the garlic mellow.

Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Do not freeze — mayonnaise separates when thawed. For chipotle BBQ aioli, add ½ teaspoon chipotle powder. For honey BBQ aioli, add 1 tablespoon honey.
