Sweet, tangy, and just a touch spicy — this easy copycat Bronco Berry Sauce tastes just like Arby’s and pairs perfectly with jalapeño poppers, chicken tenders, sandwiches, and more!
Ingredients
¾cupwater
½cupsugar
⅓cupapple cider vinegar
2tablespoonscornstarch , + 1 tablespoon of cold water
1tablespooncorn syrup
1tablespoonchopped red bell pepper
1tablespoonchopped green bell pepper
1teaspoononion powder
¼teaspooncayenne pepper , for a mild kick (optional)
1/4teaspoonred food coloring, optional for bright red color
Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add ¾ cup water, ½ cup sugar , ⅓ cup apple cider vinegar , 1 tablespoon corn syrup , 1 teaspoon onion powder , 1 tablespoon chopped red bell pepper , and 1 tablespoon chopped green bell pepper . Stir well and bring to a light simmer.
In a separate bowl, mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch with a tablespoon of cold water to make a slurry. Slowly pour into the saucepan, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens (about 2-3 minutes).
Add ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (if using) and a drop of red food coloring for that signature color. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly. Serve warm or chilled.
