How To Make Air Fryer Twinkies--Version 2 (Stuffed)
Roll out the crescent dough and cut into 2 pieces.
Lay the Twinkie out in the center of the dough.
Wrap the Twinkie around the dough. Sealing both sides, by pressing the steams together with your fingers.
Continue to wrap the Twinkies up, until you are out of dough.
Place on a greased air fryer tray or in a greased air fryer basket. Spray the dough, so it turns a golden brown and crisp up.
Set in the air fryer and set the temperature to 320 degrees F, for 7 minutes. (air fryer setting)
Cool Completely: Before storing, ensure your air-fried Twinkies have cooled down to room temperature. This will help prevent any condensation, which could make them soggy.
Airtight Container: Place the Twinkies in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag. This will prevent them from drying out.
Refrigeration: While Twinkies have a long shelf life, once they've been air-fried, it's best to store them in the refrigerator if they're not consumed within a few hours. This will help retain their freshness for up to 3 days.
Freezing: If you wish to store them for a longer period, you can freeze the air-fried Twinkies. Wrap each Twinkie individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and then place them in a freezer bag. They can be frozen for up to a month.
Reheating:
Air Fryer: For the best results, reheat Twinkies in the air fryer. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the Twinkies inside, ensuring they're not touching, and heat for 2-3 minutes or until they are warmed through and regain their crispiness.
Oven: Preheat your oven or toaster oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the Twinkies on a baking sheet and heat for about 5-7 minutes or until they're hot and crispy.
Microwave: While it's the quickest method, using a microwave might make them a bit soft. If you're in a hurry, unwrap the Twinkie and microwave it on a plate for 20-30 seconds. Do keep an eye on it to prevent over-cooking.
Remember, when reheating, it's crucial not to overdo it, as the filling can become extremely hot and might seep out. Always check the temperature before consuming.
