Description

Crispy puff pastry churros with a warm, melty Nutella center, coated in cinnamon sugar and made entirely in the air fryer in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Lay one thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into 4 even squares, then cut each square in half diagonally to form 8 triangles. Repeat with the second sheet for 16 total.
  • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of Nutella onto the wide end of each triangle and spread it toward the center, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
  • Roll each triangle up from the wide end toward the point. Pinch the seam and both ends firmly to seal.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and preheat to 400°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Place the churros in the basket in a single layer, seam side down. Cook at 400°F for 5 to 8 minutes, until golden and puffed. Work in batches.
  • While they cook, melt the butter and combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  • Dip each hot churro in melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar until coated. Serve warm.

Equipment

  • Air fryer (basket or oven style)
  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray
  • Pizza cutter or sharp knife
  • Parchment paper (optional)

Notes

Keep the pastry cold for the best puff. Do not overfill or the Nutella will leak. Coat while hot so the cinnamon sugar sticks.
