Description

Adorable mini Halloween pizzas with crispy air-fried crusts, gooey mozzarella "bandages," and little black olive eyes. Ready in just 18 minutes and the perfect kid-friendly Halloween appetizer, snack, or party food.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 6 pieces low-moisture mozzarella string cheese, or ¾ cup shredded mozzarella, divided
  • 16 slices black olives, canned
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning, optional
  • Flour, for dusting

Instructions

  • Cut the dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll pizza dough to ¼-inch thick. Use a 4-inch round biscuit or cookie cutter to cut out 8 circles, re-rolling scraps once.
  • Pre-bake the crusts. Place 2–3 dough rounds on parchment paper sized to fit your air fryer basket. Air fry at 320°F for 3 minutes, until just set.
  • Add the sauce and base cheese. Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce on each pre-baked crust, leaving a ¼-inch border. Sprinkle with a small amount of shredded mozzarella (about 1 tablespoon per pizza).
  • Bake again. Return to the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust edges are golden.
  • Add the mummy bandages. Pull string cheese apart into thin strips. Lay them across each pizza in a criss-cross pattern, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes.
  • Add the eyes. Place 2 black olive slices on each pizza in the gap, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Final melt. Return pizzas to the air fryer at 320°F for 60–90 seconds, just until the cheese bandages soften slightly.
  • Serve immediately while hot and gooey.

Notes

Notes

  • String cheese vs. shredded: String cheese is the secret to clean bandage strips. Pre-shredded mozzarella contains anti-caking agents and won't pull as cleanly.
  • Don't skip the pre-bake — this is what keeps the crust from getting soggy under the sauce.
  • Substitute the base: English muffins, refrigerated biscuit dough, naan rounds, or small flour tortillas all work in place of pizza dough.
  • Make-ahead: Pre-bake crusts up to 1 day ahead; assemble and final-bake the day of serving.
  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 320°F for 2–3 minutes.
  • Vegan version: Use vegan pizza dough, dairy-free sauce, and a meltable vegan mozzarella like Good Planet.
