Description

Cooking Italian sausages in an air fryer is a quick and easy method that results in perfectly cooked, juicy sausages with a crispy exterior. Follow these steps for the best results:

Ingredients

  • 8 Italian sausage
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil, optional
  • 1 teaspoon Seasonings (Optional), Garlic powder, Italian seasoning, or crushed red pepper flakes to taste.

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This ensures the sausages cook evenly and achieve a good sear.
  • Lightly coat the sausages with olive oil or spray them with cooking spray. This helps to prevent sticking and promotes a crispy exterior.
  • If using, slice bell peppers and onions. Toss them with a little olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings. Spread them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Place the sausages in the air fryer basket. If you are cooking vegetables as well, ensure they are arranged around the sausages without overcrowding.
  • Cook the sausages at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. This ensures they cook evenly and brown on all sides.
  • Check the internal temperature of the sausages with a meat thermometer. They should reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  • Once cooked, remove the sausages from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy and flavorful sausage.

Equipment

  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
