Description

Air Fryer French Toast Mug Cups are a quick, single-serving breakfast — soft and custardy inside with a lightly crisp top, made in one ramekin. Sweet or savory, no skillet required.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread, brioche or challah recommended
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
  • Toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh berries

Instructions

  • Lightly coat a ramekin or oven-safe mug with cooking spray.
  • Whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla in a small bowl. (Savory: swap vanilla for salt and pepper.)
  • Soak the bread in the custard about 1 minute, until absorbed but not falling apart.
  • Place the soaked bread in the ramekin. Sweet: dust with cinnamon. Savory: crack an egg into the center and add cheese.
  • Air fry at 330°F for 5–7 minutes, until golden and set. Check at the halfway mark.
  • Serve immediately with your chosen toppings.

Equipment

Notes

  • Sturdier, slightly stale bread soaks best.
  • Don't over-soak — about a minute is ideal.
  • Best served fresh; the crisp top softens as it sits.
