A single-serving chocolate mug cake made with cake mix, applesauce, water, and chocolate chips. No eggs, no oil, no butter. Lower-calorie than typical mug cakes. Ready in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
¼cupchocolate cake mix, Devil's Food, Triple Chocolate, or Fudge
2tablespoonsunsweetened applesauce
1 ½tablespoonswater
1tablespoonchocolate chips
Optional: ice cream, whipped cream, extra chocolate chips, caramel drizzle, or powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
Mix in the mug. Add cake mix, applesauce, water, and chocolate chips directly to the mug. Stir thoroughly until smooth (about 30 seconds), scraping the bottom and sides. Don't fill the mug more than ⅔ full.
Preheat air fryer to 320°F for 3 minutes.
Air fry. Place mug in the basket. Cook at 320°F for 7–9 minutes.
Check doneness. A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs but no wet batter. The top should be dry and slightly puffed.
Cool 1–2 minutes before serving. Top with ice cream, whipped cream, or extra chocolate chips if desired. Eat with a spoon directly from the mug.
