Description

Crispy air fryer sourdough toast topped with melted cheddar and mozzarella and fresh chile peppers — a fast, spicy, cheesy snack or appetizer.

Ingredients 

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 teaspoons salted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, freshly grated
  • 8

    serrano chile, or jalapeño
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, optional

Instructions

  • Lay the sourdough slices on a clean surface and spread butter evenly to the edges on one side of each.
  • Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella over the buttered side, covering the bread completely.
  • Top with thin chile slices and a pinch of salt, adjusting to your spice preference.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Place the slices in the basket cheese side up in a single layer and air fry 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden and the bread is crisp. Serve immediately.

Notes

For café-style chilli cheese toast, add a sprinkle of chili flakes or a little chopped cilantro after cooking.
