- Start by thinly slicing the lemons. You can remove any seeds if necessary.
- In a bowl, combine equal parts granulated sugar and water to create a sugar syrup. You can add lemon zest for extra flavor if desired.
- Preheat your air fryer to a low temperature, around 250°F (120°C).
- Dip each lemon slice into the sugar syrup, ensuring it's coated evenly.
- Place the coated lemon slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overlapping.
- Air fry the lemon slices at the low temperature for about 10-15 minutes, checking periodically. The time may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the lemon slices.
- The candied lemons are done when they become slightly translucent and the sugar syrup has crystallized on them.
- Remove the candied lemon slices from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack. They will harden as they cool.
- Once completely cooled, you can use the candied lemon slices as a garnish for desserts, cocktails, or other dishes.
