Ingredients 

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cold light beer, lager or pilsner

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually add the cold beer, stirring until smooth and thick.
  • Dip each shrimp into the beer batter, ensuring it is well coated. Let any excess batter drip off.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Place the battered shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded. Lightly spray them with cooking spray. Air fry at 375°F for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  • Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
