Description

Delight in the light and fluffy goodness of air fryer cloud bread! This gluten-free and low-carb alternative is made with just a few simple ingredients and cooks to perfection in the air fryer. Enjoy as a sandwich bread, burger bun, or savory snack for a guilt-free indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 300 degrees F (150°C) for a few minutes.
  • In a large bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Make sure there are no traces of yolk in the whites, as it can affect the fluffiness of the cloud bread.
  • Add the cream cheese and, if desired, the salt and garlic powder to the egg yolks. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, add the cream of tartar to the egg whites.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat the egg whites on high speed until stiff peaks form. This will take a few minutes, and the egg whites should be glossy and hold their shape.
  • Gently fold the egg yolk and cream cheese mixture into the beaten egg whites. Be careful not to overmix; you want to keep the mixture fluffy.
  • Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or use air fryer silicone mats for easy cleanup.
  • Scoop spoonfuls of the cloud bread mixture onto the parchment paper in the air fryer basket, forming rounds about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Leave space between them to allow for expansion.
  • Place the air fryer basket in the preheated air fryer.
  • Air fry the cloud bread at 300°F (150°C) for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and have a slightly crispy exterior.
  • Remove the cloud bread from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.
  • Serve the cloud bread as a low-carb bread alternative or as a base for sandwiches. You can also use them as a burger bun or for other creative sandwich fillings.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
