Description

These are my kids' favorite Cheddar Bay Biscuits. They are the perfect side dish with a hot dish of chili or alone as a snack!

Ingredients

biscuit ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ¾ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp garlic salt
  • ½ tsp dried basil
  • 4 oz block cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup salted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp olive oil

garlic herb butter

  • ½ cup salted butter
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic

Instructions

  • Prepare 2 bowls. Mix all wet ingredients in one bowl and dry in the other. Combine both bowls into one large mixing bowl and stir in the cheese. Use a dough whisk or wooden spoon.
  • Knead the dough with your hands and form it into a ball. Cut in half several times until you have 16 equal small pieces. Form each into a ball and gently press down to flatten the bottom.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F, for 5 minutes, air fryer setting.
  • Line the air fryer basket with foil. Place biscuits into the basket in a single layer. Cook for 9 minutes
  • While biscuits are cooking, prepare herb butter. Melt the butter and whisk in the garlic and parsley.
  • Brush butter over the biscuits.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
