Cut your large sweet onion into thick slices, about 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) wide then separate the rings and set them aside.
In a shallow bowl, place the Panko bread crumbs. In a second bowl, combine the flour, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika. Mix them well
In the third bowl, whisk the eggs until they are well beaten.
Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, making sure it's coated evenly.
Next, dip the flour-coated onion rings into the beaten eggs.
Roll each egg-coated onion slice in the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure the onion rings are fully coated
Place the coated onion rings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly spray them on both sides with cooking spray to help them get a golden-brown and crispy texture.
Transfer the onion rings to the air fryer basket, arranging them in a single layer without overcrowding. Air fry the onion rings at 400 degrees F (200°C) for 6 minutes. Carefully flip the onion rings over using tongs halfway through the cooking process.
Keep air frying them for another 6 minutes until the onion rings turn golden brown and crispy. Once they are fully cooked, remove them from the air fryer and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil
Allow the crispy onion rings to cool for about 5 minutes before serving them with your favorite dipping sauce
