Description

Instant Pot Quinoa --I love the Instant Pot! It makes cooking so much easier, and I can get dinner on the table in minutes. Quinoa is such a versatile ingredient, and it's also really healthy too.

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water , or vegetable broth, for added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt, optional

Instructions

  • Rinse the Quinoa: Place the quinoa in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse it thoroughly under cold running water. This helps remove any bitter-tasting saponins and ensures the quinoa cooks up fluffy and delicious.
  • Combine Quinoa and Liquid: In the Instant Pot, add the rinsed quinoa and 2 cups of water or vegetable broth. If desired, add a pinch of salt for seasoning.
  • Stir: Give the mixture a gentle stir to ensure the quinoa is evenly distributed in the liquid.
  • Pressure Cook: Close the Instant Pot lid, set the valve to the sealing position, and select the "Manual" or "Pressure Cook" function. Set the cooking time to 1 minute on high pressure.
  • Natural Release: Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure for about 10 minutes. This allows the quinoa to finish cooking gently and absorb any remaining liquid.
  • Fluff and Serve: After the natural release, carefully open the Instant Pot lid. Use a fork to fluff the quinoa, separating the grains. Your perfectly fluffy Instant Pot quinoa is now ready to enjoy as a side dish or as an ingredient in various recipes.
