Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190°C).
Remove any giblets from the chicken and pat dry with paper towels.
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, oregano, rosemary, and cayenne pepper.
Rub the outside and inside of the chicken with olive oil.
Apply the seasoning mix evenly over the chicken, including under the skin and inside the cavity.
Tie the legs together with kitchen twine and tuck the wing tips under the body.
Place the chicken in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Carve the chicken and serve it warm.
