Ingredients
4boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1tablespoonolive oil , or avocado oil
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoononion powder
1/2teaspoonkosher salt, to taste
1/4teaspoonblack pepper, to taste
1cupmushrooms, sautéed
1cupMonterey Jack cheese, shredded
1/2cupbacon bits
2stalks green onions, chopped (optional for garnish)
1/2cupTexas Roadhouse gravy or similar, or similar
Instructions
Start by preheating the air fryer to 375 degrees F for 3-5 minutes.
Rub each chicken breast with oil—season both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don't overlap. Cook for 10 minutes, flip the chicken, and cook for another 7-10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Once the chicken is almost cooked, sprinkle each breast with sautéed mushrooms, shredded cheese, and bacon bits. Return to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Carefully remove the smothered chicken from the air fryer. Drizzle with Texas Roadhouse gravy, if desired. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
