Description

Air Fryer Lamb Burgers -- Get ready to savor the deliciousness of juicy and flavorful lamb burgers, perfectly cooked to perfection in your air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Burger buns and your choice of toppings and condiments

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped red onion, minced garlic, fresh mint, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly, but try not to overwork the mixture to keep the patties tender.
  • Divide the lamb mixture into equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Aim for patties about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
  • Brush the lamb patties with a little olive oil on both sides. This will help them develop a nice crust during cooking.
  • Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each one.
  • Cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping the patties halfway through the cooking time. The exact time may vary depending on your air fryer's model and the thickness of the patties.
  • Lamb should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness. Adjust the cooking time accordingly for your desired level of doneness.
  • While the lamb burgers are cooking, prepare your favorite burger buns and gather your preferred toppings and condiments.
  • When the burgers are done, remove them from the air fryer.
  • Place each lamb burger on a bun and add your chosen toppings and condiments.
  • Serve immediately, and enjoy your delicious, homemade Air Fryer Lamb Burgers!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Cooking Spray

Notes

Storing Air Fryer Lamb Burgers:
  1. Refrigeration: If you have leftover lamb burgers, store them in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap. Place them in the refrigerator within two hours of cooking. Lamb burgers can be refrigerated for up to 3-4 days.
  2. Freezing: If you want to store lamb burgers for an extended period, it's best to freeze them individually. Wrap each burger tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or place them in separate airtight containers. Label with the date for easy tracking. Frozen lamb burgers can be stored for up to 2-3 months.
Reheating Air Fryer Lamb Burgers:
  1. Air Fryer: To reheat refrigerated lamb burgers, preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the burgers in the air fryer basket and heat for about 3-5 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). For frozen burgers, add a few extra minutes to the reheating time.
  2. Oven: Alternatively, you can reheat lamb burgers in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are heated through.
  3. Microwave (Not Recommended): While you can use a microwave to reheat lamb burgers quickly, it may make them lose their crispiness. If using a microwave, cover the burgers with a damp paper towel and heat in 20-30 second increments until warmed.
Freezing Air Fryer Lamb Burgers:
  1. Wrap individually: If you plan to freeze lamb burgers, wrap them individually in plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or freezer-safe bags. This prevents them from sticking together.
  2. Label and date: Be sure to label each package with the date of freezing for easy tracking.
  3. Store in a freezer bag: Place the individually wrapped burgers in a larger resealable freezer bag for added protection against freezer burn.
  4. Freeze: Store the burgers in the coldest part of your freezer. They can be frozen for 2-3 months.
When you're ready to enjoy your frozen lamb burgers, simply follow the reheating instructions mentioned above. Freezing and reheating correctly will help maintain their flavor and texture.
