Air Fryer Roasted Almonds — What could be better than having the perfect snack at your fingertips? These Air Fryer Roasted Almonds can be made in seconds and are a nutritious yet satisfying treat. You’ll never go back to store-bought roasted almonds again after trying these!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup natural sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups whole almonds
  • 1 tbsp. honey or agave nectar
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F, air fryer setting, preheat for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Then add your almonds to the air fryer basket, set the time for 5 minutes, shaking your basket several times during the cooking process. Remember, nuts can burn quickly, so observe!
  • Remove your almonds from the air fryer basket.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, salt, and cayenne pepper. Set aside. In a large skillet, heat water, honey, and oil over medium heat. When you start to see bubbles, add toasted almonds and coat with mixture.
  • Remove from heat and spoon almonds into a bowl with the sugar mixture and stir until all the almonds are well coated.
  • Allow to cool and then serve!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

Storage, Reheating, and Freezing Instructions for Air Fryer Roasted Almonds

Storage:
  • Room Temperature: Once the roasted almonds have completely cooled, transfer them to an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. They will retain their crunch and flavor for up to a month.
Reheating:
  • While there's typically no need to reheat roasted almonds, if you find they've lost some of their crunch over time, you can pop them back in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 2-3 minutes to refresh their crispness.
Freezing:
  • While freezing isn't typically necessary for roasted almonds due to their long shelf life at room temperature, if you choose to do so:
    • Place cooled almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid.
    • Transfer the frozen almonds to a freezer-safe bag or container. Label with the date and contents.
    • Store in the freezer for up to 6 months. To use, simply remove the desired amount and allow them to come to room temperature.
Note: Always ensure that the almonds are completely cooled before storing in any container. This prevents any residual heat from producing steam, which can affect the almonds' texture and lead to them becoming soft or moldy
